Victorian in style, the uniquely sleek 14k gold and white diamond Nightingale Conservatory Signet features a "locket" that slides open to reveal a secret compartment. The signet's shank is engraved with feathers and the top with a nightingale. The signet's chamber opens to reveal the cage from which the nightingale escaped. There are five white diamonds scattered throughout the design. The Nightingale was inspired by the symbolism of plumage and the magic and mystery of flight. Feathers have long been associated with the gods, and the feather’s image calls to mind the celestial. Furthermore, the bird is a symbol of freedom, joy, and spirit. In Emily Dickinson’s immortalized words, “‘Hope’ is the thing with feathers/ that perches in the soul.” Although this is a timeless theme, the message is especially relevant in today’s world.
